Normal ride into work this morning, no hooniganning around just a nice mellow roll in. Lunch time comes up and a quick hop up too the burrito getting place, I have lunch and roll back too work. On the way back too work Im getting as best as I can describe it is what sounds like a crack-clunk sound at about 18/2000rpm I can feel it through bars and the tank. As the rev’s increase the sound changes too a crack-crunch, so I limped into work.
Milage on bike is under 8800, I don’t ride the hair off it or rag on it for the sake of ragging on it but do get on it and get down the road once in a while.
The stealership is picking it up next Thursday, any ideas on what I can tell them other than crack-clunk-crunch. I don’t want too sound like my wife who has bionic hearing of phantom obscure noises…..
Did some digging on the forum, looks like I got a case of early comp failure.
If that's the case, DO NOT START YOUR BIKE FOR ANYTHING WHAT SO EVER.
You don't want it to pop because that would throw metal **** all over your primary.
FuelMoto USA has the Cycle-Rama compensator ramp in stock right now. They got free shipping and all that. https://www.fuelmotousa.com/i-238991...OY%20S%20FLFBS
Replacing the comp ramp isn't to bad of a job. I did it in January.
New bolt kit, and Ramp is all you really need if the gasket is good when you pull off the primary cover.
