Default USB Splitter?

Back on a Heritage again. I'm curious as to whether anyone has tried using a USB splitter to power two devices. Can I use the USB port to charge my phone while I'm listening to Pandora at the same time I'm using it to power my Zumo XT?

Has anyone tried this? Anxious to hear the replies. All input welcomed and appreciated.

Ride safe.

I think the bike's USB port is a 2-amp, 10-watt output. A splitter should theoretically get you two 5-watt ports. Modern phones usually take 10 to 15 watts by themselves, and the Zumo likes enough wattage to drive it's big bright screen, so... I doubt you'll be happy with a splitter.

I would recommend the ZumoXT's powered mount. It powers the Zumo the way it needs, and the wires run from the battery so you don't have to fiddle with the USB.

If you really are dead set on powering the Garmin through USB, then I would recommend a different approach from a splitter. I would recommend you get an SAE-to-USB adapter and plug that into the battery tender connector. That way you would have two separate circuits running at full power. You can also find one that supports 3-amp output, which should be enough to quick-charge most modern phones.

Hi all you can use the wire harness adaptor part number 69201750. It goes between the main harness and the USB outlet(in the USB caddy) and provides a 12v outlet. I ran mine to the headstock and run my zumo 590 from it. It is a switched outlet. I believe it could be for heated grips but not sure. There is also a splitter available for two feeds but cannot remember part number.
