Navigation prompt volume reverts to 60% after turning it up to 100%
Current Configuration:
2024 Road Glide (FLTRX)
Infotainment Control Unit (IFCU) version 5057D
Apple iPhone 17 (paired to bike via bluetooth or physical connection - does not matter),
Sena 50S (paired via bluetooth to bike)
Audio routed through Sena 50S or fairing speakers (does not matter),
Using Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze (does not matter)
The "Prompt" volume" option in "Sound" in IFCU settings is set at "10"
Automatic Volume Control (AVC) is "0"
I am wearing 20db air plugs
PROBLEM
I have an issue where the the navigation prompt volume reverts to 60% after turning it up to 100%.
In other words, I hear the prompt and immediately turn the volume up to 100% using the volume controls,
then opon the next navigation prompt the volume is at 60% again.
The "prompt" level in the IFCU settings is set to 10 (Sound/Volume/Rider HS Volume/Prompt - slider set to 10) and never moves when volume is reverted to 60%.
Please note: This issue was not working on Skyline OS version 4125D either and I thought 5057D would fix it.It did not.
I think this a Skyline OS issue. Apple CarPlay prompt volume works just fine in my cars. I wear earplugs and when the volume reverts
I am not able to hear turn by turn instructions and scramble to turn up the volume while it is prompting so I can hear it.
I have manipulated every volume control in the Apple iPhone IOS that was mentioned via google searches (e.g. changed spoken-directions volume in Apple Maps).
Is everyone else experiencing this same issue on their Gen2 Harleys?
- Apple Maps = Louder
- Google Maps = Guidance volume: Louder
- Waze = Guidance volume slider max
- Harley Prompt = 10
- Harley AVC/speed volume = off for test
- Sena Smart Vol. Control = off
My best judgment: this is likely a Skyline/IFCU prompt-volume bug or state-sync issue, not an Apple Maps-only problem.
The fact that the stored Harley prompt slider stays at 10 while the live prompt audio falls back suggests the saved setting and active prompt channel are getting out of sync.

I second this finding. The volume issue was not fixed by this March update. Makes one wonder if Harley tests these features? I mean, how do they NOT know the volume doesn't work?
Yes, this was the one issue I was hoping to be fixed with the recent update. Harley’s own native navigation also suffers the same problem. Calling “customer service” was just a waste of my time as they didn’t even know of a coming update.
Hey all,
I'm not sure if this is the proper place to ask this question, but here goes.
Is there a way to get the nav to show speed limits on the screen the way that Waze, Google maps, & Apple maps do?
AI is giving me conflicting information.
Thanks in advance.

Is this an apple problem, I use an android box and the onboard navigation and android auto doesn't revert to 60% always stays at 100%

Never trust any answer given by A.I. At least, not until it finishes evolving into SkyNet/Matrix and the whole of the human species becomes it's plaything.
The answer to your question is you can't. I use the built-in Nav for situational awareness (where am I? What's this upcoming cross-street? etc.). For actual navigation, I use CarPlay (that speed limit display is a yuge reason why).
