Thank you very much! The quick disconnects from Storz in the catalog page are for 5/16" fuel lines. The crossover on my FXR is 1/4". But you have both shown that they are available. I found them costing from $20.00 to almost $60 (from an aftermarket BMW motorcycle parts supplier). I also found they are available as a single cutoff (one side stays open) the other is a double cutoff (so both sides close when disconnected), so it's important to know which one you get.
Thanks for the GREAT idea!!!!

First take the turn signal off (dismount them not remove them), take out the bolts (watch out for the nut plates inside the fender), take off the seat then mask off everything with heavy paper (grocery bags) or wax paper and masking tape, run some sandpaper over it to rough it up so the paint will stick better, clean it up with something like prepsol or 90% isopopyl or denatured alcohol and have at it with the spray gun or can.
If your just doing a color, put it on in very light coats or it will run and drip on you.
If your trying to put a wrinkle finish paint on follow the directions on the can. Some brands like you to put it on fairly thick so it will wrinkle evenly.
I beat the discomfort of the stock Rocker C seat for a few bucks, an hour or so and a couple of frosty adult beverages. I took out the 2" high, HARD PLASTIC "glove compartment" that HD installed in the rider's seat that is used to store that postage stamp sized seat my wife hates so much.
This alternative allows you to keep the 2-up rider option (you can still fold down the chrome back seat support) for later. You just CAN'T store the back seat in the rider's seat anymore. I am in the process of rebuilding the back seat now to make it MUCH more comfortable for "the lovely" but that's another post.
The link is below and you'll have to scroll down to Item # 37 but it may be worth the trip if your over arriving at your destination with your "parts" aching and not exactly where they normally reside.

Hope someone finds some value in this. One of my favorite things to do is beat the system by doing it myself.
