I just threw 13" Cyclesmiths on my bike and would love to install mirrors back on the fairing, but they need to be about 2" lower than stock to do this. So I drilled my holes where they need to be. The problem is, finding mirrors that have a post in the back to utilize this hole. Also, it's gonna need an adapter to level the mirror because you can't get the adjustment you need up, to be able to see behind you because of the curvature of the batwing. I just do not like the looks of mirrors above or below the bars. I am thinking just a small black 2-3" round mirror to sit beside the speaker. I really want the mirrors to be simple, look clean and unobtrusive, just kinda tucked up against the fairing out of the way. Hate mirrors looks, but need them obviously! If you look at the picture close, you can see the plugged holes for now. Any ideas?
Also, has anyone else gone through this same dilemma, because if I can't find anything on the market, I might just start CNC'ing some adapters and selling mirrors for guys with this same problem, once I find the right ones? Thanks!

I have Paul Yaffe 13" Apes on my SG and I have the same problem. What did you use to plug the holes in your fairing when you relocated the mirror to the handle bars? Arlen Ness makes some small custom mirrors which mount on the fairing in a few different styles. They appear to have an arm on them which may allow them to be adjusted down ward. I cannot be sure of this though, as it is had to tell for sure in the pictures and I have not saw a set on a SG yet. Some thing you may want to look into. This has to be an issue for everyone who has installed a set of 13" apes on their SG. If you come up with a fix please let me know.

Oh....I will come up with a fix for sure. I just need ideas from guys with apes, and what they would like to see done. I just grabbed 2 little plugs from the hardware store for now. Thanks for the post.

I'm using the Kuryakyn fairing mounted mirrors (P#1452) w/ led turn signals on a Dragonfly fairing. They get the mirrors up where you are not looking at your shoulders. Maybe not for everybody, but I like them.
Aaron, Pull up the Ness web site and check out the small fairing mt. mirrors he has and let me know what you think about them and if you think they may solve our problem. Like I said, "They appear to have a stem that is adjustable coming off of the fairing and could possibly be use to adj. the mirrors to a lower position. "

I don't see them. This is all I am seeing on Ness' site:
Aaron, I saw the Ness fairing mount mirros advertised in a magazine a month, or so back as a new product if I am not mistaken. Apparently they have not added them to their web page if I am correct. I e-mailed them and asked if they do make such a mirror and if so, would they send me a picture. I will keep you posted.
