As a matter of interest, the o/w wire does not go to the rear light socket as shown in the wiring diag. I dead ends at the 4 pin connectoron the circuit board. I have mine disconnected right now and everything works as it should. Maybe its leftover from a previous year?

I certainly appreciate the effort Dan, hopefully a new brake switch will fix my problem. It shows voltage change with no load, but when the light is connected I get no change at the switch, nothing else makes sense at this point.
My boss let barrow his windsheild. I was not sure the size I wanted, or how one would feel. I wasn't about to drop $350 at HD for a Shield I know nothing about. His bike is a 93 or so WG. I went to lowes for electrical tubing clamps. Cost .89 each, + a buck or two for bolts. Rode back from Daytona with the shield.

Right one is the memphis shades clamp for the smaller diameter fork tubes. Left is the 89 cent clampp from lowes.

Go figure - you need 4 of them.

On the bike. Yeah, I could have used acorn nuts or something, but this was temporary for two weeks befor dumping the cash on a new HD clamp sheild.
Not sure if this really helps anyone, but if you get your hands on a shield cheap, you can always make it work for the time being.

Megadeth was first thrash concert for me at 15/16...1986, in NYC with M.O.D and Flotsam/Jetsam post Jason. I still remember it and the whole place going into a mosh pit.
Rocket,
Have you got any more 'detailed' pics of exactly what you did?
The idea of getting something like that for just small loads from the store is interesting. I hate having to get the truck out just to pick up some small items that are just a little too much to handle or strap on the bike.

Hey Mud, on the amount of fork oil to use you said:
"stroke the assembly slowly from fully collapsed to fully extended,
look in with a flashlight and you will see the air evacuation.
takes about 8-10 slow strokes...
now hang the DipStick on and measure the level
006 WG fork pipes, level is 110 mm (approx 29 oz)
all other 006 Dyna pipes, level is 112 mm (approx 26 oz)
Absolute precision on that measurement
is not as critical as getting each of the pipe levels equal."
... but my service manual, page 2-62 for 06 Dyna's has the WG and others reversed, i.e., FXDWG- 112mm or 26.6oz; all other Dyna's 110mm or 29.6oz.
... not doubting you, more like doubting the manual.

Is that the cover artwork to 'Peace Sells..."? Dang that's nice.
