Default Did HD change the TSM/TSSM marry ?

I have a 09 SG and bought the HD security. i have the table on how to marry the TSSM but my security light will not go off-even after 20 minutes. Did HD change the marrying procedures for 09 ?

I just read the 09 Electrical Diagnostic Manual and it appears to be the same as previous years for the password learn.
The fobs have to be programmed at the dealer with the DT2 though.
You do have the run switch set to RUN and you did try to start it once?
If you miss a step it won't work.

Switch set to RUN and it started and died just like it was supposed to. Waited 15 minutes for the security light to go off and it never did. I have tried several times and never get passed the first security light going off.

BTW-my fob is not a button fob-just a disk. Does that need programmed prior to the TSSM marry ?

Yes the fob must be programmed at the dealers.

From the 2009 EDM

Ignition must be off for at least 15 seconds.

Install TSM/HFSM or ECM

Set engine stop switch to RUN

Turn ignition switch to ignition

Wait for engine and security lights to illuminate and then go out

Attempt normal start one time

Engine should start then stall and engine light should illuminate and stay on

Wait ten seconds then security lamp should illuminate

Wait for security lamp to go out (1o minutes)

Then turn ignition to off and back to ignition within one second

Security lamp should illuminate and wait for it to go out (10 minutes)

Then turn ignition to off and back to ignition within one second

Security lamp should illuminate and wait for it to go out (10 minutes)

Then turn ignition to off and back to ignition within one second

Then turn ignition switch to off for at least 15 seconds and then turn on and start bike.

See how you go with that but I would put the original TSM back in clear all codes and start again if I was you.

Yes, it has to be set up with Difital Technician II, looks like a trip to your dealer is in your future. It should only take them a few minutes to do.

FYI

I used these instructions this afternoon to marry a new security module on my bike.

Followed them step-by step, the bike started fine on first try.

(Next week I'll have the dealer program it for my FOBs.)

I also used this procedure today to marry the TSSM to the ECU on my 2007 Street Glide and the process worked perfectly. Headed to the dealer early Saturday to get the fobs programmed. Saved about $35 doing this procedure myself based on the estimates I received from the dealer. Thanks so much for this info!

Is this the procedure to marry an ECM to a TSM on a 2004 Ultra without the security system?

Thanks

This is what this whole place is about.
Work together.

When some Marines were stationed in China in the 30's they heard the Chinese saying that all the time. In Chinese it's, "Gung Ho",, work together.
