Well I finally got around to getting pics organized.
These are photos of a bracket I made to use the existing clutch cable in the form of a foot clutch and a jockey shift set up . The Jockey shift was made with a simple piece of steel tubing 3/4 inch O.D. Attachment 67266 Took the pipe and hammered one end to a square about 1 1/2 up the pipe to slip over the existing shift lever from the original mids linkage. Attachment 67267 Drilled appropriate hole for bolt and bent as needed to clear the electrical caddy. This was done as to not remove the primary to install and to be able to switch back to hand clutch foot shift in about 20 min worth of work. Inserted a short piece of copper tubing into the original pipe to get a simple eight ball from Autozone to install.
The Bracket for the clutch cable was made from steel plate avail at home depot with the pipe. i spent quite a bit of time trying to figure the propper size and height for it to work ended up being about 6 inches tall to get the proper angle for the cable to clear the primary cover and work properly with ability to be adjustable.Attachment 67268 Attachment 67269 installed look Attachment 67270 continued

Attachment 67271 Attachment 67272
The arm is the original hd part from the mids that went through the primary when i installed my forwards i cut the shaft behind the primary ie did not remove primary to install mids shift arm. So had this laying around removed about 4 inches from the shaft and re welded the lever on and cut to size and shape i needed. will need to replace bushings in the mount for the proper shaft size made them from parts from Home depot again
Attachment 67273
Then removed the clutch lever assembly from the handle bars and creative rerouting of the cable under the bike with a few zip ties. Attachment 67274 Attachment 67275
I went this route as the kits to do this are around 500 + and it had been a long time since i had rode one and wanted to get a good feel for it again before shelling out the bucks for a proper kit as well as i am a cheap bastard.

thank you thank you.
Yea i know the geometry is off a bit on the bracket planning on makeing one useing a welder but just don't have one atm basically made it all with a circ saw metal blade drill and file had a shop weld the one item for me they did it free .

I also did a simple change to the lights changed the turns to
brake stop with out using the modulater used a new set of leads from cheap dual filament sockets from autozone modded the original buckets to accept dual filament bulbs and used dual filament red bulbs from jpcyclesAttachment 67279

Attachment 67280

Attachment 67281

I have a thread that I made in the dyna forums for a cheap mod on a jockey shift, foot clutch set up that I would like to move here as it is a under 50 mod. I have searched and cannot find how to move a thread to another if this is even possible. I think it would go here well esp for the winter mods are approaching. any help would be appreciated.

Ps. Figured this was a good place to ask this as it pertains to this thread if needed I will ask in another forum and seek an answer.

I know it looks pretty cheesy and probably going to redo it but spent 3 bucks a Lowes and relocated my turn signals to install some bags. While I was at it relocated my license plate with a piece of bracket I had lying around. Not much to explain on how to do it. Just used a piece of plastic hollow conduit, and shoved the turn signal and stud's into the end, a little adhesive and some tape. held on by 2 electrical clamps.

The license plate is just taken off the fender flipped upside down and clamped to the belt guard. I was just bored this weekend. LOL

I have a great field of view from behind now versus having them mounted above the bars, plus it kind of gives the bike a lower/sleeker appearance now.

Default turn signal socket assembly extraction tool

When I relocated the front turn signals to the base of the aux lights on my 2003FXD, I had to pull out the socket assembly from the turn signal housing.

I was worried to cause damage to the socket assembly by using a screw driver; therefor I made a "socket assembly extraction tool" out of a metal coat-hanger.

You simply squeeze it, hook up the pins into the notches where the bulb fits in................

.........and pull out gently the socket assembly:

Default another garage door mod

Wired this up with no cutting or splicing of factory wiring. I just opened up my Chamberlain garage door remote and soldered in to wires to the points that activate it. I had a spare trip odometer momentary switch that I used. The stock switch has been tucked away. I was thinking of running the new switch to hang out the top of the console where the wiring harness goes to the neck, but wanted it securely mounted. I've seen it mounted to the opposite side of the dash but did not want to drill into it. I used double sided molding tape to stick the remote under the dash. tried to attach pics but no luck??

Yes show us pics! Do you keep your bike outside at night? What is your address? LOL!

I did something similar and have a hidden switch mounted on the bike somewhere to activate it. I do, however, keep my bike in the alarmed and locked garage.
