I bought a football cover to do the mud mod for my Fatbob and the catch is that the AC insert on my snail shell original cover is different than the insert on the football covers. My plan was to cut out the center of a football cover and put a Fatbob insert on the football style cover. It won't work... They are different inserts. My alternative idea was to have an insert for the football cover painted black with the script for my bike added onto it.
What do you guys think? Any other ideas???

 

you could put stiffeners on bottom,maybe al angle with strips across the bottom

Here's my version of relocating the horn.

I used two 1 1/4" adel clamps and a small piece of 1/8" x 1/2" flat stock. Moved the horn right behind the exhaust side downtube.

Guys -

If you have forwards and want them back about 1.5" then you want kick back plates. I have seen many sets online for about $150. There are many sites you can find a picture of these. All you need ot do is print a picture of it with the bolt spaced apart the same as your actual forward control mounts. Then transfer the printouts to 2 some thin steell for mock-up. Once they are mounted you do need ot shorten your break rod.

If the mockup feels and looks good, then take them to a machine shop and have them make up a thicher set out of steel and paint black to match the frame. If people are interested then PM me and I can proide more details and pictures.

The plates bring the forward controls back 1.5" and up about 1".

If you measure between the distance between the bolt holes on your bike, then print this to the same size, then you can mark all the holes. I made th outer shape cleaner then this, but bolt pattern stays the same. When I get mine back from the machine shop I will post some pics.

 

Anyone have an idea about a do it yourself lay down license plate bracket for a 06 Street Bob? It has the rear turn signal relocation kit with the bar below the license plate bracket.

Ok here is another way to get a lil more out of your risers. I know there have been a couple ways shown on here already but this is how I did it. I used 1/2 in threaded rod because I didn't have any bolts lying around that where long enough. Ok well down to it i used a 3/4 ridged coupling for electrical ridged emt and a couple of threaded 3/4 to 1/2 reducers. Any way I got pics and the out side I diameter of 1 1/4. They are just raw galvanized but could be easily polished.
