Okay guys, I just got home (14 hrs makes for a long day) and as promised I took some detailed pics of the "tool". These should help you all make your own. As I stated before I had to come up with something and it was too late to break out the steel and grinder. I'm kind of embarrassed to show it but hey it was free and works so I keep using it.
Here's the spacer I made by just wraping tape around it several times.
