First noticed this the other day when running my spot lights.. The battery and engine light came on and charge was low when running spots. Turned them off and charge went up problem temporarily fixed..

Running up from Baton Rouge to Natchez tonight when I was running brights it did it agian. At first light would go off when I switched to dim. Later just stayed on even on dim. Voltage very slowly dropped from 10.5 to 10 and would not increase. Finnally made it to hotel and bike will not start now.. Battery to low.

So what do you guys thing? I am thinking alernator is going out. Or is it the battery or something else??

 

if you're in a hotel it's gonna be kinda hard to "test" your charging system based on the step by step procedure listed above in the sticky notes section. If I were a betting man, I would be looking at the voltage regulator at the cause of this issue.
