First noticed this the other day when running my spot lights.. The battery and engine light came on and charge was low when running spots. Turned them off and charge went up problem temporarily fixed..

Running up from Baton Rouge to Natchez tonight when I was running brights it did it agian. At first light would go off when I switched to dim. Later just stayed on even on dim. Voltage very slowly dropped from 10.5 to 10 and would not increase. Finnally made it to hotel and bike will not start now.. Battery to low.

So what do you guys thing? I am thinking alernator is going out. Or is it the battery or something else??

 

Your problem could be several things. Loose or dirty battery connections can cause this. A failing battery will show these symptoms. you might have a faulty rectifier/regulator or a stator failure.
Check your battery & connections first to rule them out.
