Default JM amp question

There is no sound coming out of speakers. Head phones are working. The green light on the amp is blinking sporadically. Worked just a bit then it died again. light was on constant when it was working then when it died the indicator light started blinking again. Any help would be appreciated

He is not receiving any private messages. Also, I emailed him yesterday and he has not responded.

My first thoughts would be a loose connection. But since the headphones are working the amp has probably gone to hell in a hand basket . . . lol Check all your amp/speaker connections.

J&M folks normally go to the LONE STAR RALLY in Galveston,TX. This year it's 6-9 Nov 14 could be the reason for a slow response to email. John's always helpful when asked, I'll be surprised if he doesn't reply to your email pretty soon!

I was told he was at the Galveston rally and he is probably busy. He has been helpful in the past when I was installing the system. I am pleased with the sound of my system and Im sure it can be resolved.

Sent my amp to JM to be repaired and as it turns out with back and forth calls JM said it has to be a connection, turned out that it was. My amp worked a while with the original ground location but it finally quit. JM seemed certain that it was a connection issue after they found the amp to be working. They suggested a better ground location than what I had so I ended up grounding it next to the master ground bolt on the frame and problem solved. John and his staff did a great job with the phone calls and emails in resolving this issue and I look forward to enjoying my system again.

Buzz ,,,,,,

thank you for the good words and we are very sorry for the hassles you experienced with the J&M amp ,,,,, Please let us know anytime that we can be of service ,,,,

HD forum members should all be aware that later model Harleys have a split frame and it needs to be a lesson to all of us, that major power accessories need to be properly grounded FORWARD of the frame split under the seat, NOT behind it ,,,,,

we even see problems with CB antenna SWRs and grounding issues because of this same reason ,,,,

the battery, the starter and the charging system (alternator and regulator/rectifier) all use the forward part of the frame for ground, so all electrical accessories should be properly grounded to the forward part of the frame as well ,,,,
