Well, after making a few phone call, it looks like I'm pretty much stuck with what I have. Any larger amp will smoke the under performing Boom audio speakers I have. If I upgrade the amp, then I render my saddle bag speakers useless.

My only real choice is to pull EVERYTHING I purchased 4 months ago (including the saddle bag lids, wiring harness, etc) and put in nice speakers in the fairing and a good amp. Put my original saddle bag lids back on, and try to sell everything on ebay.

Not what I was wanting to hear-----I'm just so disappointed in the Harley Davidson Motor Company at this point. I should of purchased a new Indian as I had originally planned on.

Now, now. You should have just got on here b4 you dumped all those Benjamins on the KaBoom stuff and got some sound advice (pun intended).

You can still probably recoup a lot of your $$$ on the Boom stuff on fleabay. There a plenty of suckers out there (no offense). There has to be, J&M has been in business for 36 years. (Sorry, couldn't help myself on that last sentence)

Sell it off and come back with your bike, your budget, and your expectations. We'll get ya set up with something that will knock your socks off. Probably for the same or less that what ya get selling your Boom stuff.

Yeah, that's kind of the problem. Lot of work to take all the stuff off, put the stock stuff back on, then wait until I sell what I can to do it all over again. And even then, my saddle bag lids are useless.

You can get speakers to fit the MoCo lids. If I'm not mistaken, Ifininty makes a nice pair of 5X7s.

Yes they do.

I was looking at drop in speakers that are a little cheaper since it sounds like the OP will have to flip his Boom stuff before forking out the $$$ to do it over.

Yes they do. It's actually spec'd out as a 6x8 that will fit a 5x7 opening. I'm guessing mounting ring that works as an adapter. lyork, don't fret. Yes it's going to be some work but it will be worth it once it's all installed, dialed in, and your blowing down the road AND can still hear every note.

I spoke to Bill at Biketronics. Those speakers aren't really a very good option, the recommendation was to either drop the saddle bag speakers altogether (1st choice) or purchase aftermarket lids to fit 6x9 and have painted to match.

Again, a lot of work and money on top of all the money I've already dropped. I'll be approaching another $2000.00 to do saddle bag speakers again ( lids and custom paint is a large cost) or as I said before--- pull everything and go with just one amp and a nice set of fairing speakers for about $800.00 (which is what I should of done in the first place).

Just plain sucks anyway I look at it. Boom Audio has to be one of the biggest scams on the market right now.

Instead of scrapping the Boom lids, at least explore the option of putting Infintys or another 5X7 in them.
