I agree and am exploring that option. Pulling the front fairing and removing the amp and speakers is obviously my only choice, but with the added cost (or loss) of the saddle bag speakers makes it seem too expensive to pursue.

I still a little unsure of the correct amp from Biketronics for 4 channels however.

That's what I thought just wanted to make sure. OP as money would allow I'd add BT's 6x9s in those lids. Whatever you do DONT scrap them. I have a buddy with those in his CVO SG and they friggin rock!!!!! He's running 7.1's in the fairing and 6.5's in the lowers. It's ridiculous how loud this thing is.

For a 4 channel setup the amp from Biketronics would be the BT4180.

The issue is the OP has a 2014 and the CVO/Boom lids are different than the 13 and older lids. Biketronics doesn't currently have a 6X9 speaker adapter for the new lids.

OP if you really want to have a good sounding system I would follow the advice Gannicus gave you.

If you want to be ONE AND DONE. Sell all the Boom stuff (if you can) Invest in Biketronics BT4180 Amp and their 7.1 speakers for the 14-15 models in the fairing.

http://www.biketronics.com/2014-bt7p14-speaker-upgrade/

Purchase these speakers for your lids:

http://store.12velectronics.com/imag...ebags/#reviews

These speakers are waterproof with a lifetime guarantee and if you call Bill directly at Biketronics and tell him you are a forum member he will give you a great deal on your amp and speakers. This system will give you the volume and clarity you are looking for.
With the Biketronics BT1480 amp pushing some BT 7.1's in your fairing and those Imagine I57-2 5X7 speakers in your saddlebag lids you should be more than happy.

Send a PM to Hogpro, he a vendor on HDForums and has great prices on Biketronics gear.

Just floating another option out. Sounds like the biggest sticking point right now is the lids. If you go with a 4 channel amp that has independent gain control for the front and rear you could do the amp and front speakers and keep the rear gain real low or all the way down until you can get the lids figured out.

Not sure if BT is working on these lids it not but my guess is it's in the making. Wouldn't get rid of the lids either way.
