Default Interface kit

I have the fairing off and I have the 23 pin connector unpluged and I wanted to add the iron cross interface kit and the connector has plastic straps around it and I wanted to know what I need to do to get the black and red wire to t connect to it should I just cut the straps and pull the cover back or what is the best way to connect

I have one don't worry it's not a big deal. I had a problem using the taps that came with it. Ended up soldering conections and using shink tubing. You will really like it.
