Default ASWC-1 Problems

I have tried to get my ASWC-1 to work and have had the fairing off numerous times. Getting frustrated and am starting to think I should have gone with the BT kit. Installed it. Had all the lights come on according to the guide and can only get the vol and seek to work consistently. Had everything working for a short period but then went back to the vol and seek. Checked connections and have it grounded on the triple tree where the amp is grounded. Tried reset so many times I can't count. The last time the lights just flashed between red and green but not as fast as when it resets. Don't think it's a ground problem since the amp is OK but ?? About ready to rip everything out again but it sounds so good that I don't want to go back to the stock HU. I assumed that once it configured itself everything would work except the mute. Anything else to check?

Change your ground location on the pink/white wire to the ground post on your amp or run it all the way to the battery. I had problems with consistency as well. Moved my ground from the triple tree to the amp ground post and no more issues.

Thanks, I will have to try that. Maybe have to run a ground cable from the battery. Thought I would be OK on the triple tree since the amp was grounded there but I guess never assume anything!

There's been some that haven't had any trouble at all grounding there but there's been a few that have had problems with consistency. Moving it to a known ground will help to eliminate that aspect of it. I'd try just a temporary wire first to see if that fixes your problem.

triple tree did ONLY work for me with the Kenwood AFTER I removed the connected wire with the black cap on it... do not ask me why.
With Previous Pioneer HU it was fine grounding to the ciggie lighter. not so much with the kenwood....

It's strange to me that this has such a finicky ground issue. The amp has no problem being grounded on the triple tree but the interface has issues. Have to try and run a wire from the battery. Won't be able to try it til Thursday since I have to work but will get a ground wire up and try that.

so far reading the STICKY i have seen 3 different instructions on what to do with the pink/whie wire
1. cut it at the plug and ground it
2. cut it at the plug and connect to the pink/white on the ASWC-1
3. cut it at the plug and connect to the pink/white on the ASWC-1 and take that to ground

Well I think I finally got it to work. Ran a wire from the negative on the battery to the unit. Reset it and it didn't detect the radio. Tried to reset again and go through the detection and couldn't get it to reset, about threw it in the road. Tried again and finally got it to reset and detect the radio. Went through and did the mute reprogramming. and it worked. Went to go for a test ride and the bike wouldn't start. It really helps when you reconnect the fuel line to the tank!! Thanks for all the help!!!
