I was given a RF PBR300x4 amp from a buddy that upgraded his audio system. I know that a lot of members here don't care for this amp but I would like to utilize it. I would like to run four speakers 2 in the fairing and 2 in the lowers. what speakers would be a good match for this amp. I thought about using the kappas but they are 2 ohm. Would I be able to run them wired in series bridged or off two channels only? Or is this amp not enough to run Kappas? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
That amp is non-bridgable. So you gotta go with 4 ohm speakers. At 75w and four speakers it's still alot better than the stock unit.
I personally wouldn't break the bank getting speakers since most of the more expensive 6.5's are rated higher than 75rms. I'd get a set of Kickers or American Bass and call it a day.
Any one else have a suggestion? Haze, which Kickers, AB?
HAZE got you covered brother. All my suggestions would be the same as his. That amp is not on the top of my list either, buy hey. . . If the price was right go for it. It will be much better than stock. The Kicker and American Bass speakers haze mentions are the truth on a budget. Both need just a little more power than the X4 can provide would be my only reservation. Again. They will sound better than stock.
