So I've had my system installed for about a week. Huge difference. One thing I was having an issue with was the difference I was hearing between the engine off vs running. I had previously set it up without the engine running, it sounded great, then once I was riding it would be terribly distorted, but still better than stock.
Last night I decided to tear off the front again and this time have the engine running while I made my gain and freq adjustments as well as turning up the pac box a little. Put it back together and took it out, man what a difference. No distortion and more bass. 3/4 volume is now more than enough to cruise 80 and clearly hear the music. Can't wait till my new windshield shows up, hopefully kill some of the wind noise.
System is:
Boom6.5 flashed per biketronics specs
Pac LOC box
Cerwin vega b2
Infinity kappa 62.11
I do think I'm going to step up on the infinity's though. They work well for a $100 set of speakers, that's for sure, but I can't help but think a better set of speakers could handle the extra power this amp still seems to have.
What are some good coaxials in the $200-$300 range?
http://www.biketronics.com/bt465-6-5...379.1438260000 I just replaced my Kappa's with BT 6.5's because I needed a 4 ohm speaker. It's hard to quantify the difference between the two unless maybe you ran each at the same time left and right. On the plus side, the BT's are guaranteed for life. On the other hand, a 2 ohm speaker gets more wattage than a 4 ohm.
