Bought a new bike. 15 Road Glide
Looking at doing an audio upgrade this winter. Plan on just amp and fairing speakers. Bought a
PBR 300 from a forum member, and looking for advice on which speakers to go with. Leaning towards Kappas, but concerned about the " brightness" comments I've read.
Going to go with the BT line leveller as well. Spoke with Bill at Biketronics, and definitely see one of his systems in my future. Just not right now. Still have my 12 Limited in the garage that needs to go!
Any input on speaker choice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Budget is a couple hundred for speakers. Figure I'd go with 2 ohm. Not much choice in that price range.
I looked at the specs on the Arcs. I don't think my amp would let them work at their full potential. And , I think they were about 380 US?
I have ARC Moto 602s in my dash, they are awesome, however I do not know if they would play to their full potential with that amp, I'm running a BT 4180 with CVO lids and BT 5x7s along with it. I'm sure Haze is steering you right! My ARC's were like 270 though,, shopped for them. I can research and find where I got em at if you like. (look at old GMail reciepts)

Appreciate that Jim, but I went ahead and ordered the Kappas last night. Found them on Amazon Canada for 236 to my door. The Arcs at 270us sounds attractive, but once I convert the dollar , pay shipping and duty........ I'm probably close to 400.
Thanks for the input. I'll keep reading , and probably be looking for some help once it comes time to install it and set it all up. Sensory overload when guys start talking speaker ratings at certain this that and the other, setting gains on amp, hp etc.!!!!!! I'm learning, and the advice here is priceless.
Justposts, you never called back. Still have questions? I know you already got speakers coming, but I really like my kickers. No modifications to fit outside the pod, no rubbing.

Re-looking at this. Jester makes a good point. There have been a few post recently of the Kappas rubbing on the rushmore bikes and busting the outter edge of the speaker. Not sure if putting it inside the pod is a possible solution?
No problem Justposts, if you need anything on your install, I can certainly try to help out on here, had my bike down to nothing left but the fenders when I installed mine. You'll want to take the tank off, and fairing outer,, easy, 6 bolts for fairing, and four screws for windshield. There's a wiring "Compartment" all along the top of the frame under the tank, I ran my wires all down there to the battery.
