I really want to get more lows and low mids on the bike (yes I know they drown out on the highway, but I ride around town a lot too), and Im trying to figure out which direction I'm going to go. Below is what I currently have, and what I plan to add.
Current system:
Kenwood 998 head unit
BT4180 Amp
BT 7.1 Pros in the fairing
BT 479HT 6"X9"'s in the lids (hogtune)
I will be adding lower fairings and another set of BT 7.1's though probably not the pros, but there are definitly going to be some speakers in the lowers ran by the same channel as the ones in the fairing.
The next thing I'm thinking about is replacing the saddlebag lids with the dual 6x9 lids by cycle sounds. I am still waffling about speaker choice, but I have it pretty well narrowed down to either the Kicker KS693s or the infinity kappa 693's.
The other choice is get a set of the voodoo bikeworks 8.8 inch JL marine lids.
Either option will be ran by the 4180.
Lastly I was thinking about some 6 inch subs down in the bottom rear of the bags. Either JLs or Kicker compRT's.

You can run the Kicker's in parrallel and the KSC693 sound really nice. The only issue with the 4180 and that set up is you are going to want to run the subs in LPF and you are most likely going to want to run the 6X9 with some degree of HPF.

Im not sold on the subs yet. I was kinda hoping that the kickers would get most of the way there. If I go that route I will put the kickers in and get it tuned then see what it sounds like before buying the subs. If I do get the subs I will just get that tiny mono amp kicker makes.
