Guys,
Im hoping to install my system finally (yes this time) but all of my parts are up at my shop and I won't be able to get there until when I will work on it. Can anyone let me know what all I need to order or pick up before I start. IEower wire, fuse link, RCA's, speaker wire.. ETC... You can be as particular as you want, let me know gauge, length, brands, ETC. I don't mind ordering and getting the better/best cable and pieces needed.
The install will consist of a Biketronics 4180, Focal 165KRC's, Focal 570AC's and Biketronics LL's

If you ordered from Biketronics, they're going to have almost everything you need wrapped up with their stuff. I'd run new speaker wire so make sure you have that, can't really think of anything else?
Disclaimer: I do this for a living and have a garage full of install products, so I very well can be forgetting something since it's always in arms reach LOL

Thanks for that, I did order it from Biketronics so I hope I'm all good there. Is there a specific gauge speaker wire you recommend for this application? Doing car audio 20 years ago is a bit different than bikes today.
I wish the weather was nice so I could work in my garage instead of my shop, my garage has just about everything that I would need also.
Interested in this topic as well! My BT4180/7.1Pro kit will be arriving Monday, and I prefer to be prepared, as opposed to scrambling around town for extra parts during the actual install. I have read up a bit here in preparation, and since there are some very knowledgeable members here, I'd be dumb not to heed advice based on factual findings and experience. So far i have gathered lots of wire ties, poly fill, and some dyna mat my son had lying around. Like the OP, I'm curious as to what gauge is recommended for running power/ground to battery, quality of said wire, gold plated or not, will any speaker wire due, or should it be "premium", etc? Thank you so much! My apologies to the OP as well...didn't mean to hijack you're post.

There will be the necessary power wire for the amp with the kit. If you need any speaker wire, I personally like 12 gauge.
Off the top of my head, here's my list of stuff to half:
Spade Connectors/Quick Disconnect - the BT stuff will come with the on, but I pulled one off while doing mine, just nice to have
Some Cheap Wire conduit - just to clean up some wiring before you're done
Silicone to Seal Pods - if a Road Glide, you'll want to seal the pods up good
10 ga wire for ground
Ring Terminals
I think that's about it. Good luck and enjoy that new system.
12 Ga speaker wire...thanks! I got the BT kit with the replacement brackets, so my application won't involve splitting the pods and re-sealing them, but Pete the OP may in fact need to do his. BT recommends that i keep the ground as short as possible, and yet i see most everyone running ground back to the battery. If i can get a clean/good ground under the fairing, i prefer that. I already have enough ring terminals attached at the posts for my Ward fans and various other LED lights, etc. I should be good ground out short, if i clean/grind the paint off, right?
Just my .02. But 12ga is a little heavy for speaker wire IMO. I've found 16ga to be perfect for our bikes. 8ga power and ground. Ground at the battery. If you are running a BT4180 or BT2180 amp. 12 ga speaker wire is definitely out.
