Default Biketronics 7.1, 6.5 and 4180 Amp

Have been reading this forum to figure out what to do with my issue. I have 2014 Ultra and I upgraded my audio system when Biketronics came out with the upgrade. I have 7.1 non pro in the front and 6.5 in the rear with BT4180 Amp. Recently one of my 7.1 speaker craped out. I called Biketronics and they sent me a new speaker. After I replace the speaker and took the bike out for a ride, the new speaker started to make thumping sound, I turned down the volume way down and bass to 1/4 to listen to the music.

Called Mike at Biketronics yesterday and ask for help. One thing I didn't mention is that I had to get my Ultra Flashed by the dealer in 2014 to work with the 4 speakers and amp. According to Mike from Biketronics that Harley had made some changes during their new updates, and causes the Amp puts out more bass on after market Amps.

I asked Mike if I can use BT LL to manage that issue, he told me that I would have to get the bike flashed back to the original state to use LL. I can use some help from the great minds on this forum like Haze, Gannicus and Tailwind. Would appreciate any advise.

You should only need a stock Ultra flash (0 amp 4 speakers)

Do you remember the flash you used when you installed the system?

LL work with stock flashes. We all use a stock Ultra flash as it unlocks the rear channel and gives you fader control but a stock RG/RGS/SG/SGS flash would also work just no fader option.

Stock = 0 amp and either 2 or 4 speakers, other flashes are designed to work with the Boom upgrades. The stock HU has an EQ curve built into it to help make the cheap speakers sound good, as you upgrade and more power is going to the speakers this EQ curve get amplified causes issues with sound in aftermarket systems (the flashes CAN flatten the curve but as you've stated recent software updates don't play nice with those flashes and aftermarket amps and speakers).

You could try and load software update 1.19.0, reset the radio and see how that works or you could take it to the dealer and have them flash for 0 amps, 4 speakers and use the Line Levelers to filter the signal.

Agree w Bunk.

The BT355 Line Levelers really have been a proven product for many many folks.

Get the LLs (15%off)
Flash to stock Ultra (0 amps, 4 speaks, 2 upper fairing, 2 rear pods)
Software update 19.0
Perform the HU reset procedure (attached)
Ride on!!!!!

I recently installed a BT system using the stock Ultra flash (0 amp 4 speakers) and 2 line levelers.
(along with other BT items like 4180, speaker brackets, 7.1's, breakout harness, etc)
Re-loaded 1.19.0 software, a reset as outlined by BT, and turned the AVC off.
Very happy with the set-up.
