Stock HK head unit, added PN4.520 amp. Do I need to stay with 2ohm speakers since I added the amp? I was going with the Inifinity 62.11I's but they are skyrocketing. Looking at cheaper options for the front.

 

No you can run 4ohm speakers with this amp as well. Are you doing just fairing?

 

that amp is great for a couple 4 ohm speakers as well as it can be bridged at 4 ohms as well. check the audio classifieds for some good deals on some good speakers. i havent been watching speaker prices, but the kappas have jumped quite a bit

 

Fairing and TP pods. Was thinking of doingd lids instead of TP pods but I dont have the scratch. The JM speakers I have now actually sound ok, but I want better.

 

Take a look at these. Really great sounding speakers and they really take a beating. Only thing running 4ohm with this amp you won't have any headroom.

Yes they fit in the pods no problem. What I mean by headroom is this, the amp is rated at 100 watts at 4ohm and those speakers will handle 100 watts RMS hence no headroom. It'll work but the amp will work harder too. If your not stuck with that amp I'd look at the SS pn4.1000 and you'll have plenty to work with.

 

I've had it a while. Just swapped to the Alloy Art Fairing brackets and the 520 is the limit as far as width of the amp with those brackets.

 

I gotcha. The 520 will still work with those speakers. May even surprise you at how well they sound.

 

Pulled the trigger on the Kickers and the Metra adapter for the Harleys. Speakers not in stock until 8/31 so I wont have them until next week. Stoked to hear how they sound compared to the JM's.
