Default Installed my DD components today.

Just finished putting in the AW 6.5 and AW 28 tweeters. I have not done any tuning yet. Still have everything set for the moto 602 I took out. I am very impressed with this setup. Much louder, and a lot warmer. Installing the tweeters in the hogtunes grills was easier than I thought it would be. The hardware that comes with the grills is not long enough to hold the tweeter in place, so I used a few dabs of hot glue to hold it in place while the silicone dries. I also drilled the two extra holes to support the inner to the BT brackets while I hade them out. As usual, I was in my own world and forgot to take any pics.
Test fit before trimming the fabric.

Cant tell there is a tweeter

Also learned a trick to help wrap the grills. The insert that holds the speaker in the box fits the grill face perfect. I cut the fabric to fit and sat the grill down on it.

Hope to get more pics up this weekend and a video.

How did you cut the tweeter holes in the mesh grills?

Can you explain what extra holes you're talking about?

Yes, this is what I did. Thank you Bert. It made a big difference. Before at idle my inner moved quite a bit, now its solid again.

I used a 1 3/4 hole saw for the hole. Its not quite big enough, then I used a die grinder to enlarge the hole big enough the tweeters fit snug.

Great job black01. I ended up frabricating longer mounting brackets for the tweeters. With the weight of the tweeters I'm not going to trust silicone only.

Nice install. Here is a tip for the tweeters. I know haze was exploring options to get a better mounting bracket. Go buy some 22g sheet metal from lowes or somewhere, cut a strip about 1/2" wide. Drill a center hole, mount screw and metal to tweeter( not in grill). Bend 2 90's at the edge of the tweeter leaving a tad bit of room 1/16" or so and then trim flush with face of tweeter adding about a 1/16 of an inch again to that depth. This will give you a solid mounting point without the need for any adhesive. If you do still feel the need, use a tad bit of clear epoxy weld on top and bottom. A dab will do.

Thanks for the tip slye. I will give that a go next time I have the fairing opened up. Waiting on a DSP to be released. Hopefully soon.
