My wife rides a 2007 Ultra Classic with the tour pak removed. One of the factory speakers is blown so she wants to upgrade her sound system. She has her head unit picked out already I just have a question about the amp and speakers. I have been reading and reading the posts and we don't have the budget for the latest and greatest. If she got a pair of the kicker 6.5 KS series, I believe the model is 44KSC6504, would they fit in the fairing? I know I would have to get the 6.5 adaptor. Now with the amp, a lot of people on here talk about fosgate and soundstream, if I went with soundstream, would the PN2.350D push those speakers or would I have to go with the PN4.520D and bridge it to 2 channel? There really isn't that much price difference between the two. Also if there is another speaker that would sound good with either amps I am open for suggestions. At this point she is only putting speakers in the fairing. Eventually she will add speakers to the lowers and do lids. I would like to stay around the $150.00 price range for speakers and $150.00-$200.00 price range for the amp.
Before you replied I was thinking about two pairs of JL Audio TR 650 in the fairing and rear pods on my bike and in the fairing of my wife's bike. I was going to use the Alpine CDE 143BT head unit for both. For hers I was going to use the soundstream PN2.350 and to run mine the PN4.1000.

Honestly I love JL! But those TR speakers are not very good speakers on our bikes. They sound much better in a car. I wouldn't waste my money on those. Bike audio is a little different bro! Those Kappas I mentioned will blow those JL TR's away on a bike. Read some threads and go with the tried and true stuff guys have been running here. Doesn't pay to get too creative with bike audio. Especially if you're on a budget.

kappas are great budget speakers. still love em. loud and clear at hiway speed with an amp
Ok so go with the Kappas on hers with the 2 channel Soundstream. Now on my bike with the front and rear speakers would you go with the same and just get two 2 channel Soundstream amps to run the set in the fairing and the set in the tour pak?

The SS pn4.1000 you mentioned earlier will work perfect with those speakers on your bike.
