Default Rushmore Headunit Flashing

Today I had the chance to flash a bike to the 8 speaker 2 amp flash that Harley no longer offers. This was a bike I had previously installed an Arc PSM. Bike set up was 6.5 and horns cut into the fairing up front and a 10 in each bag. The customer came over for the flash and retuning. Result..........sounded even better!!!!! The bike already sounded great and the PSM works wonders with all its options, but starting off with a close to flat signal already made tuning much easier and straight forward. No need to correct the signal via PSM, just tune.

I I didn't check what software the bike was running but it was a 2017 so I'm guessing a fairly recent update. Bike sounded great on or off. I posted previously that here locally everyone uses to use the flash by the local dealer and never a BT line leveler. We're the only shop in the area offering these flashes so I was very excited how well it worked out today. We have a 15 RG that we are finishing up this week and will follow up and let you know how it sounds with out the PSM and just the flash.

If you find a local shop that can do this try it out. If there's a desire here on the forum I'll see if I can build a mock up so guys can send in their radios for a flash.

Awesome stuff right here. Big thing on the mockup is even if you made a power and communication harness between scan tool and radio, does the bikes can bus still need to be in the equation? If you can do a flash service then the whole problems with the signal correction will be a home run

I think the ECM is the mechanism to communicate to the radio but the radio is where the setting is saved. I'm going to try with a spare ECM and radio the shop next door has. More testing for sure.

I would be interested in sending my unit to you for a flash.

I believe the radio communication is relayed through the BCM as opposed to the ECM. I know it is on other vehicles. The settings should be stored in the radio.
