Polk Audio MM6502 Series 6.5" Component Speakers
On my 2015 Ultra Limited, based on Tesnevo's review a little while ago, I installed the Polk Audio MM652 coaxial 6.5's in my tour pak pods, powered by a CV B52 amp inside the tour pak. Loved them! Then I decided to try the MM692 6x9's in my Hogtune speaker lids, powered by a Diamond Audio Micro2V2 amp in the left saddlebag. Loved them also! Today I just ordered the MM6502 6.5 component speakers for my front fairing, powered by a RF TM400x2ad amp. I'm going to mount the Polk tweeters in my J&M metal speaker grills, or maybe in the outer area of the inner fairing where the mirrors would be mounted on the Street Glides (mine are on the handle bars). I also have the JL Audio Fix86 mounted in my tour pak to take care of the messed up boom 6.5 head units EQ.
Now I know that Polk Audio has or had a bad reputation on this forum a while back for their previous MM691 series speakers which apparently had issues (well before my time here) but I think this new MM1 series will be a winner. So far I'm liking what I'm seeing and hearing! It will also be nice knowing that all 6 speakers on my limited will be marine grade weather resistant.
You audio competition guys probably won't like these speakers based strictly on their light weight and small magnet. I was uncertain when I first saw them myself, but hearing them made me a believer!
I'll report back once I have these component MM6502's installed. https://www.polkaudio.com/products/mm6502
