Hi all, I think I have a quick question. I have a 2011 Ultra Limited. Everything Ive read seems to indicate the radio came with an amplifier mounted under the tour pack. I cannot seem to find the amp, did I get screwed when I bought the bike back in 11 or was the amp an option, mounted somewhere else, or...am I blind?
I thought only the CVOs had the amp standard? Maybe someone with a dealer background could chime in.
It's big enough you couldn't miss it. There was a big L shaped plug that ran a wiring harness back into the bike.
They did make a bracket to mount that same amp under the fairing though if I remember correctly. I think that was for after sale installs though because I think the catalog said it wasn't compatible with the CB module, meaning they didn't make a bracket to relocate it properly. If you have a CB I wouldn't think it would be under the fairing.
many here can willingly remedy that dilemma.......
Definitely better with aftermarket. If I remember correctly the Harley amp for that model was only 40 watts per channel into two ohms. I think the head unit put out 20 per channel so not a great gain. You can easily stuff an amp under that fairing that puts out a clean 100 watts per channel into four ohms for what Harley charges for their amp.
