What. Is the significance of the 1/2" plywood spacer the instructions say to put between the radio and amp? The top of the stock head unit has a ridge in it, so the plywood wouldn't sit flat anyway. I would tend to believe you might want air space between the 2 to help with any heat - I understand the SS amp doesn't heat much.
I've got everything but the spacer done. Everything wired up and this thing jams! Stock head unit, SS PN4.520D, Polk MM651's in fairing and lowers. Locking forward to finishing it up and going for a ride.......

I dont use the plywood, others do. the way the amp mounts to the fairing braces is the way I prefer to do it and keeps it off the top of the radio
take a look at these pics. The vertical fairing brackets taper outward just above the radio. This amp will sit perfectly on that outward tapered piece. Use some metal underneath the bracket to secure it...
