Default Newbie Boom Audio II Question

I picked up a 2015 Ultra Limited last summer that had already been updated with the Boom Audio II system in the fairing and tour pack along with 2 amps. I was not impressed at all. After some reading, it appears that the amps are maybe over powered for the speakers. Is that correct?
If so, can I just get new speakers and keep the Boom Audio amps? It would be nice to save money on new amps and running the wiring.

Boom setup is proprietary. Uses a bi-amped setup where the tweeters and woofers are wired separately for each side using all 4 amp channels. The amps are not in any way overpowered but the speakers are definitely just inferior. There have been a few folks looking for aftermarket replacements for the Boom speakers but I don’t think there has been much success. Hopefully one of them will chime in with their results.

Haven't found anything aftermarket for the fairing or tour pack yet
, but did just install some Sony XGS6921 bi-amp capable 6x9 speakers in my saddlebag lids. Sounds pretty good, but I used the VTwin Audio adapter rings and I'm not really confident of the seal. I've just ordered some 6x9 replacement lids and will move everything over when they arrive.

A further note - it does look as though Sony's XS-series has a 6.5 speaker that is bi-amp capable as well. That would mean you could replace your tour pack and fairing speakers assuming the speaker fits in the opening.
