Default Question ref 2010 Stock Headunit Replace

I apologize for my ignorance. I searched and could not find the answer, however, find it hard to believe that I am the first one asking this.........

If the stock HK Radio is replaced from my 2010 FLHTK (not looking to do anything crazy)... Do I lose the switch controls and the communication?

Looking to add Bluetooth...

Also debated with looking for a Marine Grade DIN radio that has a monitor with built in navigation and bluetooth... Not really looking to change speakers...

Any advice appreciated... Sorry again for my ignorance.

RON

And before I get the obvious suggestion...

I already have a Bluetooth AUX Dongle and use my phone for GPS... I just don't want to deal with having to keep the Dongle charged all the time and would like to remove the RAM mount for my phone and keep it in a bag...

Hand controls you can still use but the communication and weather band you lose with aftermarket radio. Iron Cross does good things with stock radio including bluetooth modules

Thank You Much!

I will look into Iron Cross but with that info I may just stick with my Dongle and phone...

Just added the Aquavonics head unit with BT and Sirius (if you also buy the $30 module...bundled on Amazon) to my 2013 FLXH. It is a direct replacement. Unplug the OEM plug from the back of the stereo and plug it into the Aquavonics head unit. It's as easy as that. If you add an amp, the H/U has low level outs for running at least 4 speakers. Just turn the internal amp off and let her go. It was extremely simple to install. If I hadn't had an external amp I needed to make a bracket for, it would have taken more time to remove the outer fairing and replace it than it took to install the new head unit. It has a 4V remote amp turn on that works perfectly with the Punch amp lots of guys use for a small 4 channel amp that will run 2 or 4 ohm setups.

Since it's plug/play, the stock handlebar controls are easily used to switch between sources (BT, Sirius, FM, aux, etc).

Iron Cross was a good suggestion if he wants to keep all the stock functions, but wouldn't he need a handlebar control kit from maybe BT or Metra with most aftermarket HU's. I think there are a few that don't need it. I have the Biketronics kit on my HI bike.
