I have found that the coil/compositor configuration (try saying that with a few beers) from the tm series has no effect on fm from the ones I have installed. A tm 400x2 with a set of hertz mpx 690.3 will give any system a full range sound with lows comparison to 8's yes 8's. That amp is a beast and those speaks are also beastly.
Thanks for that info Gypsye. How would the Rockford TM400X4ad compare to the ARC Moto 600.4 for warmth?

These changes I'm thinking of are in the future but I try to maintain a Google document with these part numbers and suggestions for when I do decide to make changes.

The arc moto is a very good amp. I prefer the RF amp only because you have the ability to adjust the input gains on your bt line leveler or use loudness on the aftermarket hu and that amp has a clipping indicator for the input. You can increase the input giving you more volume before any output gains are touched. If you over power the input, the led indicator will let you know when clipping is in play. Also the RF has equalizers for channel 1/2 and one for 3/4 that can smooth out that harshness from the high end. With that in mind the RF is not as loud but its a difference between 90 db vs. 95-100 db at volume (depending on speakers are used). My thought is if you cant hear 90 db two ft in front of you, something is wrong with your hearing. LOL.......

Thanks for that info Gypsye. I am using low level outputs so no line leveler will come into play (pre-Rushmore head unit with preamp outputs installed by Iron Cross). I do like the idea of the equalizers though.

If I changed things around like I think I might in the future the amp on top of the head unit will only power the Motos in the batwing fairing on channels 1 and 2 and the ADs in the lowers on channels 3 and 4.

I am running 140 watts to the Motos right now but only 120 watts are available to the ADs in the lowers. They get louder than I can stand now (those Motos almost seem to like abuse) so I wonder if the slight drop in wattage would be worth the trade in sound quality. If it is cleaner sound that is easier to hear so to speak then it may be worth the trade off.

The setup you have now is very viable as that amp and those motos get loud. A suggestion is back the gains down on the motos as they are extremely efficient with a 103 sensitivity and don't require a bunch of power. You may gain some more mid bass from them. As T has eluded to, those are some of the best bang for the buck speaks around. I am running them up front with the tm400 and they sound good.

Groovy that's good to know. Do you have any experience with the AD Designs and that amp? With 1/2 of the output of the 2 ohm load of the SS PN4.1000d I believe someone that tested it said that would be about 120 watts or so applied to them in the lowers. Depending on the source and music style sometimes I fade down toward the ADs and push them a little harder.

I have not run the AD speaks (yet) so I cant say anything about them. I am putting together a thread comparing fairing speakers (similar to the amp challenge I did) using the wdx motos, hertz mpx 650.3, arc 602's and a new secret speaker I found that I will talk about later. I am only using coax speaks as this is what most average joes use as we cant afford pro setups or want the hassle of cutting fairings, grills or making adaptors. The damn thing about that new speak is, Gann knows about them too and I swear he knows about everything and I cant figure out how he does it.
