Hey guys. I'm about ready to tear all this crap out and go back to factory. 08 ultra. Kdc x998 head unit. Rockford t400x2ad amp powering hybrid audio image 6.5 speakers. Everything hooked up gains set. Everything sounds good and loud in driveway. Put fairing back together go for a ride and the speakers can barely be heard. Rears that are only powered by hu are loud. I've changed rca checked grounds and am about out of patience. Any ideas?

When you are listening to it in the driveway is the bike running? When you say you can’t hear it going down the road is that just at speed or are they quiet all the time? Different between running and in accessory?

Yes running in driveway with the rpms up to 2k. On highway they're just quiet. The rears are the only i can hear unless i duck behind shield and the fronts are still very low.

It has to be a connection problem somewhere. Don't think its a remote wire problem as there would be no sound if the amp isn't on. Its not one of the speaker connections as the other would work. How do you have the amp grounded?

Good on the ground. That was my next suggestion. RCA connections are the industry standard but I hate them. I would also try wiggling all wires while the fairing is off and the bike is running to see if it happens then.

Yep did that. Put on fairing. Still loud. Hop on bike head down road and it sucks.

do you feel like the sound output changes when you start moving or is it that your not hearing them as much due to wind noise?
