JL 880. Absolutely no desire to switch from that 8" speaker.

These are the PRV's you want: 8MR500-NDY-4

Suggest you try these before dropping money on the Hertz. SV 200.1 (which is a MUCH heavier speaker).

This is the one I have, however if your lids allow it I would suggest the JL 880 like Tailwing suggested, but all depends also on the overall setup. I do have 10's inside the bags to go with the 8s

JL 8.8's all day long!
I continue to be impressed after having them for a year. They flat out pound, 100% marine, nice enclosure so you can pack all sorts of shix around them in the bags, and they are all range.

Most would probably like the JL's. Takes some work... and another pair of 8's to get nice lows out of the PRV's. Haven't seen anyone running 8's and 10s though.

Very popular setup on the SOS competition. Midrange 8s in the lids, midbass 10s in the bags.
