Hey Steve, 8's in the lids...NICE! What amps are you going to be running, and have you tried the AW's yet? I put my Aw's in and they are a little louder then the HAT SE's and are musical and accurate!

GLW, Lowers will be a nice upgrade to your current system. The problem you will get into when adding 2nd amp and more speakers with different sensitivity ratings (efficiency) are how to balance all that with just the stock HU, thus the need for a DSP. Make sure the amp you add has a HPF (x-over adjustments) since that will be the only way to send proper frequencies to your new speakers. PRV or some type of Pro Audio speaker will sound good in the lowers, I have the VO 6.5 in my (under 13) lowers but were a tight fit, not sure about the how they would fit in the 14 up lowers!

I haven't done the AW's yet. I'm going to mock up the lids, trade outthe fairing and replace the arc moto amp with an SD800.4

Thanks MM, yes...i think ultimately i will end up witb a dsp. The other option is to put the lowers on channel 5/6. Only 75 watts, but the jl600 seems to be conservative on watts. Then get a small amp to fit in fairing for the Polks in TP.
i just needt to figure out the better way to go.

Hey DSM is that Arc DSP one that can be adjusted via bluetooth with a phone or tablet? If so that would be enticing when adding a second amp.

The Rockford Fosgate DSR1 is the DSP that is controlled via bluetooth
The Arc PSM DSP is hardwired via USB cable to a computer

Thanks for the clarification. In a cramped 13 under fairing are there any disadvantages of the RF over the Arc?

The disadvantage of the RF DSR1 is the size as it is considerably larger that the Arc PSM.
