Great responses so far, very much appreciated. Would it be a good idea to go back and set the freq to the 9 o clock area roughly, then set the gain with a meter and follow up with fine tuning each by ear? I am certainly not an audiophile either so my ears are not really tuned into what sounds correct.

You don't need the meter.

I'm a chicken, I turned the HP filter up so high on the ADs the only bass I get is from the Motos in the fairing!

Forgot to ask about the EQ/Presets. I have AVC (or whatever the speed control is called) OFF. Should I leave bass and treble in the center position, or should I reduce them both completely before setting the gain?
