Default Speakers

I have a Aquatic AV Radio in my 2012 Street Glide and I have the stock Speakers still in bike, saving up for some new ones. I will have about $130 saved up by tomorrow! What are some good sounding speakers that I can get for my money, I guess best bang for the buck! The stock speakers worked pretty good for a while but I noticed yesterday when I turned them up to about volume 25 they sounded distorted or kind of like one blew, like vibration sound but when I turn sound down it was alright. Normally ride in volume 20-25 range! Any suggestions?

1. Are you currently running a amp? and, if so what amp?
2. What are your goals of Audio?
3. What kind of riding? Cross country, highway speeds, back roads?
4. What kind of music do you like?

I know this sounds like a lot of questions. But, this will help steer you towards a setup for your needs.
For the record, most speakers in the $130 range will not sound good in the wind at speed. Especially if there is not a amp involved.

Hey fmfpj,
I'm not running a amp yet! I figured I'd work my way up as I get the money to pay for what I need. As I figured speakers would be the simpliest thing to start with then the Amp.
My goals of Audio is, Have good sound when I ride and not the distorted sound I'm getting from the stock speakers, I pretty sure the Aquatic Av radio is a good radio, well better than the stock radio.
The kind of riding I do is, Backroads and highway speeds, haven't had a chance to do in high mileage trips yet, but I am planning to do it in the very near future.
The music I like is pretty much everything except, todays Country, I do like the old Country Waylon, George Jones people like that, also I don't like the teenie bopper music

But in answering all your questions, I may just wait to get speakers and a amp together. There's some places like Crutchfield that has sales on the speaker and amp combo, so I think I'll go that way when I get enough money to get the combo it might save me money than buying speakers the waiting on getting the amp. Besides just found out my low beam on my headlight went out so the $130 I had for speakers is going towards a LED headlight.

I installed the aquatic av in my 2008 this year. Works great so far. I also installed some Hogtunes model 352F-AA front speakers at the same time. These speakers are rated at 75watts with 150watts peak. At 2 ohms. 5.25 inch mount. 20 year warranty.
.For what i paid for them- they work really well for tunes in town and on the highway. I paid about 130$CDN.
im planning on adding the rear set into my tourpac next year.
just another option to checkout!
