The part that has damage is the dust cover, not the cone. Was the horn " stacked" on top, mounted in a grill. Looks like it might have made contact with something. Please describe the mount and size they are,6.5 or8?

Looks to me like they made contact with the grille mounted horn.

There is not enuff clearance w the ST25 unless u use the BT Brackets and also remove the horn spacer so that as many treads are exposed as possible.

Which brackets? This is on a road glide. But either way it just sounds like I just have to make more room.

I would have thought AHB would have the clearance worked out but they obviously hit. I wouldn't think the dust cap would have that big of an impact on sound. You might be able to buy another dust cap and glue it on.

the dust cap shouldn't(take that with a grain) efftect the sound, its function is to keep crap out of the drive system. a replacement may be available, glue on type of thing, i would say that you could still use them as long as they sound good and you get the clearance issue worked out. sometimes poor tuning can make the speaker move too far towards the end of it's happy traveleing distance(excursion).

Well thank you, I will get the clearance issue figured out and will probably just buy new ones just incase. As far as tuning I did it with a DMM and then fine tuned it by ear so that shouldn't be the issue.

Found my clearance issue. I did not know this was a spacer. I thought it was part of the housing.
