Well I tore it all apart again and in the process I changed my lower speakers to (gasp) kicker cs65’s.
Everyones ears are different and no matter what I did before the sound was too warm. The infinity dash speakers just didn’t seem to produce any appreciable volume in the upper ranges to the point I felt like I was listening to vocals and the left hand side of a piano 90% of the time.
I threw these kickers in there just because I had them in my toolbox from a while ago sooooo why not. I set them around 150w, bumped up the juice to the infinity in the dash, buttuned it back up and went for a ride.
Night and day difference for me. It’s actually got volume in the upper frequency range now, I can rip heavy metal at 80 mph and hear all of the instruments and vocals nice and clear.
Now I guess it’s time to start looking for lids. I think I’m hooked haha.
