Default Pod eliminator brackets

Quick synopsis of my setup. 14 SGS with a rockford flash. Rockford tm400x4 running euphoria EPC6k components and wdx moto6x9’s in the lids ran by a Tm400x2.

I had the epc6k’s in the pods after some minor fitting. Sounded good imo for what I was looking for. A friend changed out his biketronics system and was not using his brackets so I asked to test drive them. Put those in and mounted up the EPC6k’s and well..... they seemed to lose all low end (or should I say warmth.) readjusted gains by ear and HPF, went for a short scoot. Very disappointing, those brackets are so easy to work with. I even put some dynamat on the inside of the faring.

Any tips I could do to get some warmth back other than the obvious (putting the pods back in?)

thanks gents

Some speakers, no matter what you do to the tune, just sound better in the pods.

It's a shame. Those pods take up so much damn room. I lose any thought of changing front speakers, just because I don't want to mess with taking the pods out.

With the proper tools they can be removed in a few short minutes. Easy peasy.

The best way I found was a set of ball head extended hex bits. If you have a better way, please share.

The toughest are the three lower fasteners and l use a short 7/16" socket, tight universal and some extensions. All 1/4"drive. Of those three fasteners, it's the forward upper one that is extra tough to extract/install because of the wiring harness that is close to them on each side.

The other remaining fasteners come out easily with a ball end hex wrench.

just a 7/16 1/4 drive wobble socket and extension is all you need for that.
