Anyone see anything that may be out of whack? I am getting a pop when I turn the bike on. Adjusted the delay to 10 but still getting it so I need to figure that out. Thanks.

Totally agree w Outkast.

IMHO, ur boosting or cutting more that 3db on a multi song / genre tune, I think ur asking for trouble or have a pretty damn unhealthy speaker.

Just remember, ur fine tuning a speaker for the environment / installation / complimenting role. Ur not in a studio producing the music. 2 cents.

If Chan 3-4 are SV165’s that needs some help man. Those are mid range speakers, they sound be playing a very focused range....no need to bring down 12.5k when the speakers isn’t rated to play that high.

I had the pop as well turning on and off. I wound up getting a couple of PAC SNI-1 ground loop isolators and it eliminated the pops.

OP as for the db adjustments on the PSM, I tried keeping everything within a + or - 3db swing but in some cases for my ears I had to go a little past that. If you have good warm sounding speakers though you might be able to keep it in that range. Think of it as a graphic equalizer that you may have had in an old car or a home stereo. I adjusted each set of speakers individually so I could find out which frequency ranges I didn't like. Some folks like to adjust them while all speakers are in play but I found for me my ears just aren't that good.

Good luck.

Could try bandpass those SV's from 110 to 5K or 6K. Looks like they get messy after that.

So I should bring CHs 3&4 down to flat eq and adjust + or - 3db from there, based on my ears?

Sounds like a good starting point. My pipes are so loud that I had to hit about 4 on one or two sliders, but I decided on that only after several test rides. Be conservative at first. Adjust it to how it sounds good in the shop then hit the road and crank it up. See if you have too many mids or highs. If not leave it as is. If you feel like you have too much midrange then adjust the middle sliders down a touch. If you feel like you have too many highs adjust the right sliders down a little. This is oversimplified a bit but you will pick it up.

One one of the posts recently someone posted a chart showing what frequency ranges certain sounds occupied. Maybe dig that up and print it out for after your test ride.

I appreciate the guidance here. Question, I have a frequency chart for the Hertz sv165, do I want to dial mine in to replicate? Or is that showing optimal response with parameters listed.

Don't replicate it but work from that graph to get it as flat as you can.
