Hello all. Been bit since I changed anything up. I have a 2017 limited and I am currently running
speakers:
BT7P14 pro in the fairing
Hertz SV165 SPL Show in the hog tunes lowers
Pioneer 6900 Pro in the bags (just added)
amps:
Biketronics BT4250.14 running fairing and lowers
NVX VADM4 running bag 6x9(just added.
also I have
hertz Mille Legend 1650.3 in the tour pack. Not currently connected but would parallel with the lowers.
now that I have added the second amp (8awg power and grounded under head unit bolt) it cuts out at higher volumes.
I find it hard to believe I am at the end of the charging system capability because it happens with the bike running or not.
any suggestions?? Maybe switch to a lithium battery?
both amps have there own power wire from the battery and both are grounded under a bolt from the HD Boom mounting just on opposite sides.
another note the Biketronics amo does not cut out only the NVX. Gain is set under half and running in bridged mode.
I am using BT line levellers and NVX is set to full range. I have ordered a Sony XAV-AX7000 and a DSR1 to take over just not here yet.

First off those grounds should be going back to the battery. Second where the gain dial is on the NvX is not how one should gauge where the gain should be. Have you tried turning the gain down to see if it goes away. Did you use any thing like a dd1 or even a meter to see what voltage your at?
I was wondering about running the ground back to the battery. In cages its always taken to the closest point. I just followed what was recommended when I installed the biketronics amp. No I have not set the amp up with a dmm at this point I was going to wait until the Sony and DSR1 get installed. It is set pretty low but maybe around a 1/4 but that by no means says its correct. I will try running a ground straight back and see if I can get it dialed in with a meter.
First off grounds always go to the battery, how were the gains set, if amp is in full range you have no control of your hpf for the 6x9 speakers, and last check and.recheck rca connections.. lastly I wouldn't parallel those 6x9 with your 6.5 to pod speakers they are 2 different animals.

I am under impression the Biketronics line levels had a built in HPF. Not sure where they are set from Biketronics.
really looking forward to getting a better head unit and DSR1 in there to regain control of the whole system.
I think I am going to leave it all alone until the Sony comes in this week and the reroute the grounds and set up the amplifier gains at that time. I will report back once this is done.
