I have a 2020 trike that I want to upgrade the sound system
i would like to do it in two stages
1) add mmats 601.cx’s in the tour pak and fairing
2) later on add an amp and maybe dsp
the crux of my problem is I’m not sure if the factory head unit would power the mmats at an acceptable level until I added the amp
needing input on that,,,,,thanks in advance
you need to do it all at once, the stock head unit will not drive them correctly. amp and speakers, dsp and other things can be added later if you wish.

Don’t worry about a DSP. Unless you do A LOT of research to learn how to use it. It’s not an easy tool.
You definitely need an amp of adding speakers. MMats are pretty efficient. You can get a decent, budget amp. Then you’ll need to get radio flashed. Figure at least $1000 to do the upgrade correctly and get the most from what you are installing.
