I really hate to start a thread to ask this, but I looked through the relevant forums for a sticky on abbreviations. Thought I had seen one at one point, but not able to find it now.

Anyhow, what is WHIM? That's a new one for me.
Wireless Headset Interface Module........the bikes bluetooth module that should be factory stock......
WHIM is another tool or toy depending on your point of view. I have had on from the week they came out. No your 2010 will not have one. Not designed to work with the old radio. Lot of miss information about the WHIM out there.
What it does is allows the total wireless interface with a wireless head set both directions. If the head set is HD enabled it can also provide stereo sound and have many of the function control by the radio rather than have to mess with heard set.
You would not know if a bike has one by looking it goes under the faring. One way would be find the update mini USB. On factory install it is by the USB plug depending on the bike. Installed after the bike was built the Mini USB is normally in right side cover.
But many run it other places. On the RG some of us run it under the right speaker cover. Easier to run and use if needed. . Note there has only been 1 WHIM update so it is not needed often.
You can add some blue tooth function to your older radio check out Iron cross. They can do some useful thing to your radio. http://ironcrossaudio.com/
