Hi all. I've been trying to master all of the systems on my newly acquired 2012 Ultra Classic. The guy that sold me the bike told me it didn't have a CB, which I found odd based upon the research I had done. Anyway, of course it has a CB. And it sort of works. Here's the issue. If I'm sitting in the garage and turn the CB on with the squelch wide open, I can hear the expected background noise and an occasional faint transmission which I assume is coming from truckers on the turnpike which is about four miles away. However, when I turn the wheel, it will cut out completely, and sometimes does not come back on when returning the wheel back to center. My assumption is that there's likely a bad connection on the back side of the radio. My question is, what's the easiest way to get at it? Do I need to remove the inner fairing? Is it possible to remove the headlight to get at the wires?
I don't know about the 2021 models, but the 2012 models came with two wheels, a front wheel and a rear wheel. Turning the front wheel causes the issue I described.

So I removed the outer fairing this morning. Turned the CB on and moved the wheel (via the handlebars) from side to side and could not duplicate the problem. I put the fairing back on and again could not duplicate the problem. So removing and reinstalling the outer fairing seems to have fixed the problem. We'll see...
One thing to check (not that this is related to your problem) is that the antennas are installed in the correct position on the tour-pak. The stock HD AM/FM/Weather antenna is different from the CB antenna and have been installed incorrectly in the past. The base of the antenna indicates which one it is. You should make sure you have the CB antenna mounted in the correct spot (right side) and the other antenna on the left side.
Thanks. Yes, I did see that somewhere here in the forums. I went down to Gator Harley and bought a CB antenna to mount on the right side to make sure I had the proper equipment installed. The matching FM antenna was out of stock, so for now I have two antennas that don't match. Guess I won't take any pictures until that gets rectified.
