Saturday, I installed my RF Bag Speakers but I'm waiting on my rear BT line leveler to arrive,, is the Boom flash mandatory for the rears to work or optional?
I mean will the Boom GT play front and rear speakers without the flash?
I'm hesitant to go to HD because of the horror stories about them not knowing about the proper flash files etc.
My BT rear line leveler shipped today so, I guess I'll know for sure by Saturday.
If im not mistaken, on bikes that dont come stock with rear speakers, you need to have them "turned on". But which flash are you going to do? Audio shops can also flash the HU.
There is a sticky explaining in detail the most popular flashes available.
yes a flash must be done to turn on the rear speaker output, any stereo shop with the techno research tool can do it, but note some, like the soundz flash while it might be the flattest does not do this, the RF flash does open both channels and lets you use fade too. and the Rf flash is a good one to use and you don't need the BT line levelers with it.
mikes300, thank you, I will search around for someone to flash, HD shop is 1.5 weeks out but I guess I can wait, I'm checking local RF dealers now, so thanks again

the techno research website has a list of vendors who use their stuff, and ya most any Rf dealer probably has one.
With harley now doing RF systems for stock audio, I'm sure many more will soon be RF dealers and can flash the HU. A dealership did mine last july.
Called my local HD @ 2 miles from me, they say they can flash it but the guy I talked to had no idea what I was talking about and they cant get me in until the 17th

Sounds about par for harley techs and service managers any more.

Better off finding a Techno dealer. I've found shops that don't do stereos but have the tool and can flash. It takes 40 seconds to flash it. You don't need to be a audio shop do it.
