First let me list what I have, then the issues Im having.
sony ax7000
ground zero 4-8 dsp
soundigital evox 1200.4 4 ohm powering
4 ground zero gzcf 6.5pl coaxials, fairing and lowers
soundigital 400.2 powering skar tx65 coaxials
Stinger 6000 rcas from dsp to amps
Stinger x2 series rcas feom head unit to dsp
All stinger power, ground, and distribution blocks
All wires are OFC, ferrules at all connections.
Before anyone asks, I plan on getting it tuned by a professional once I find the issue
All gains set using an SMD DD1 distortion detector and multimeter. Head unit clipped at 49, so I set max volume at 44 to prevent that. Linkwitz-Riley crossovers set at 125hz 12db slope and 18500 12 fb slope. All settings recommended by the shop I buy from. Theyre very reputable in the bike audio world.
Issues.
Speakers randomly cut out. Ive played with the dsp, turning 1 speaker on at a time, and cannot duplicate the issue. If I play 2, like the fairing, one will inevitably cut out. If I play the lowers, 1 will cut out. This happens at any volume played.
I can play the crappy skars at max volume, no cutting out.
Does anyone have any clue what the issue might be? Im open to any and all suggestions.
1. After setting amps with DD1, what was your voltage on the settings?
2. When you say cut out, do you mean it'll stop playing and then come back on? Is this all of the GZ's, or just one specific one?
3. Are connections good at speakers?

Voltage is set at 28 volts per channel at max volume playing a 1k hz,-5db test tone.
When they cut out, its a split second, and completely random. But its only the ground zeros.
Connections at the speaker are uninsulated crimped female spades, correct width, with a dab of solder to prevent coming loose from vibration, all covered with heat shrink.

So if Skars work fine all the time and they are through the DSP, then I would try playing GZ's off your 400.2 and see if they cut out. Help eliminate amp issue.
I would also try different input and output of DSP, maybe bad channel on that as well. Or by-pass DSP and run speakers right from amp and see what they do.
SD 1200.4 X have been known to have channel issues.

I just did that tonight. Played each GZ o the 400.2 bridged. Apparently I have one bad speaker, but cant figure out why that would make others cut out. Unless its sending the amp into protect for that split second.
So for now, Im removing the fairing speakers, moving the lowers up to the fairing, and seeing about either warranty or getting the speaker rebuilt.
Scratch that. Tried it this morning and having issues again. I am totally lost on this one
I'm going to suggest it's your amp. I had the exact same problem coupled with gain adjustment issues, excessive fan noise. Sent the amp back for a warranty replacement.
