Default Speakers

Looking for suggestions for speakers, 13 street glide, Alpine iDA-X305 head unit and a Hawg Wired rs400 amp, currently have Infinity Kappa 62.11 speakers, one is dead, only want 2 speaker fairing set up. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thank you.

If it were my money and only wanted 2 fairing speakers, I'd do the Mmat PA601cx's at 125w ea tuned hpf at about 90hz.

You won't beat the ground zero yellow baskets w a sd 800x4 bridged. They will outplay any other coaxial out there for the money (300 a set). No other coxial plays as low and they get real loud n clear on the high end.

If you want all out the loudest and clear go w the db drive Euphoria. Another loud speaker that has almost no mid bass is the diamond mp654

That would be a good setup IF he had an SD800 to use. In this case however, he's working with a HawgWired 400w amp.

I have to agree with dsm on the mmats as they provide a good SQ with less power than the GZ’s. Don’t get me wrong , the gz’s are a damn good speaker and may sound good with less power. I am currently running them in my lowers with just 200w and they sound good. They are not as loud as the mmats with that power but still sound good.

Buy a new sound digital 800x4 and set of gz. Push around 300+ watts and they will blow those mmats away. Heard it seen it firsthand.

If you can't buy a new amp then yea go w the mmats

So it looks like the Mmat or the yellow basket, is everyone saying that the rs400 isn't big enough to power the yellow baskets?

Will it play sure. Will the mmats be a better choice w that amp yes. The ground zero wake up around 225 and will take 400 each. The best choice would be a evox 800x4 bridged w those yellows. The more power the more sound. The gz has a nasty mid bass punch when you send some juice to them. There is a reason they were on national backorder since the new yr. I'd you don't care about it being really loud n punchy stick w the mmats.

Keep in mind to run big power to these gz you will need a good tune on a dsp. Then a t harness makes life a lot simpler. So in the end the gz will cost you a bit more

Figure a dsp 170 250
T harness 100
New amp 400 440

Have to agree with DSM and TG. With the GZ's. you will not be disappointed if you have the amp.....all about the $$$ vs what you are happy with. We have ours GZ's at 300 watts with a DSP. Had the Mmats and they were good....just always looking for more

Most will always want more. That's the rabbit hole 🕳
can always be louder and have more bass. That's why you see guys with 12-800.00 beyma 8 inch spewkers and numerous tweeters. That guy started out w stock speakers too lol
