I have a 2021 CVO Limited. It has the WHIM. Boom! Box GTS Infotainment. And I have a Boom! Audio 30K Sena headset. My Infotainment software is M21.20.28.00 which should be the latest and greatest. I’ve read the forums already on the necessary iPhone settings - it’s all setup fine. I also have projection mode on in my Infotainment settings. My problem is that when I ignition on my motorcycle with the phone plugged into the USB cable to my Infotainment system, CarPlay only gets offered sometimes. I’ve tried plugging the cable out and back into the phone. I’ve tried turning the 30K headset off and on. I’ve tried re-ignition cycles. I can’t reproduce what makes CarPlay work or not work. It’s really frustrating. And it’s only successful like 10% of the time. Most of the time it just doesn’t offer CarPlay.

The only forum I read that I’d wonder about is if the quality of my lightning-USB cable from my iPhone to my Infotainment system. They said some cables aren’t rated for sync + charge. But to me that would be an all or nothing issue. Not intermittent. I’ll try different lightning-USB cables and I’ll post the link to the cable I’m currently using with the issue at hand. In the meantime, any thoughts or suggestions?

 

I would for sure start with the cable, its a big issue, I've read about issues with the 30's as well, HD is working on a fix for that, not sure how it effects carplay though. also are you Bluetooth from the phone to the headset? that's a big no no, Bluetooth the headset and the phone to the WHIM only! fire up bike, connect headset, then plug in phone. phone needs to be unlocked too i think.

 

I also have a 2021 CVO Limited. Initially, my attempts at Carplay were intermittent also. What I've found works consistently is, 30K on, start bike, listen for Boom audio connected, plug in phone.

Ensure your lightening cord is MFI...probably is.

The one thing I haven't quite figured out is messaging. I'm not getting notified. Probably a setting I have wrong, but not sure what it is. The odd thing, this has not always been a problem. I recall it working perfectly with a NO1 bluetooth helmet and CarPlay not being used.
